Detailed design involves taking the top level design from the concept and masterplan and adding a lot more definition. Typical outcomes from this step would be a planting proposal, a planting plan, a plant schedule, construction drawings, a setting out drawing and a lighting and electrical location plan. Together with the masterplan and concept drawings, these are documents that a contractor would use to determine how to construct the garden.
